Julysa Sosa Selected for Artists Against Apartheid’s ICE OUT Art Collection
We’re honored to share that Julysa Sosa has been selected for the second time by Artists Against Apartheid, this time as part of the powerful new ICE OUT Art Collection 1—a national call for visual resistance led by artists in solidarity with immigrant communities across the United States.
Julysa’s digital artwork, “Caminamos / Soñamos / Despertamos,” was selected as part of the first round of featured works, announced on June 27, 2025. This collection demands a unified call: ICE OUT OF OUR COMMUNITIES.
About the Work:
“Caminamos / Soñamos / Despertamos” is a digital piece that speaks to the memory held in our bodies and the resistance carved into our bones. It honors the Earth as our second mother—one who aches as her children are hunted and who awakens with every footstep of protest, prayer, and sacred rage.
This work reflects the lived experience of detribalized and diasporic communities who return to the land through resistance. It’s a reminder that while ICE wages violence, we move together—unforgetting, reclaiming, and refusing to be erased.
A Growing Archive of Visual Resistance
The ICE OUT Art Collection, curated by Artists Against Apartheid, is a national collaboration between artists and organizers fighting for immigrant justice. These works are meant to live beyond screens—in community centers, on gallery walls, and in the streets—where art becomes a tool for collective action.
