S.O.S.A. (South of San Antonio) Studio LLC functions as the professional entity and administrative arm behind the artistic work of Julysa Sosa

The name "South of San Antonio" holds dual symbolism for artist Julysa Sosa. It cleverly serves as an acronym for "S.O.S.A.," representing the family’s last name, and a slogan Julysa always heard her father say with pride growing up. "South of San Antonio" also contextualizes the Sosa family’s chosen home of San Antonio, Texas, and pays homage to their migration. It anchors the studio in the cultural context of Julysa's birthplace in the bordertown of Brownsville, Texas, and extends beyond the border, linking the studio to her ancestral homelands in Mexico.
