A Note from the Artist |Update on the Madre_Land Artist Talk
I wanted to share an important update with everyone planning to attend the Madre_Land exhibition artist talk at Centro de Artes Gallery. Due to last week’s government shutdown and FAA travel restrictions, my travel plans were affected. I faced a tough decision: reschedule or cancel my flight. With so much uncertainty around delays and cancellations, I chose to cancel. Unfortunately, this means I won’t be able to attend the artist talk in person, and I am truly sorry to miss it.
Join the Conversation at “Charla de Arte”
Even though I won’t be there, I encourage you to attend what promises to be a thoughtful and inspiring discussion. The artist talk, titled “Charla de Arte,” features incredible artists from the Madre_Land exhibition, including Maria Jessica Brown, Mónica Estrada-Saldaña, Ruben Luna, Kayla Matta, and myself, in conversation with curator Bonnie Ilza Cisneros.
Together, the panel will explore South Texas memory, cultural connection, collaboration, and the creative process, offering a rare opportunity to hear directly from the artists about the work, the ideas behind it, and the stories that inspire us.
Why Your Presence Matters
Your attendance will make the evening special. Even in my absence, I hope you feel the energy and intention that each of the artists brings to this exhibition. The conversation is designed to be engaging, insightful, and a celebration of art, culture, and community.
