Julysa Sosa (She/They), a Detribalized Native Xicana, centers her work on identity, healing, and reconnection as a detribalized Indigenous person. Through her diverse art forms, Julysa captures her journey of disconnection and reconnection, exploring the complexities of identity shaped by colonialism and 'Mexican' nationalism. Julysa emphasizes her Detribalized experience and does not claim affiliation with any tribal community. She holds a BA in Journalism & Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She is currently based in Myaamionki (formerly Indianapolis).
